Most evidence-based programs offered by EBLC members use diverse staffing structures that engage both paid employees and volunteers.

Tips for successful staffing:

  • Provide a job description that clearly outlines responsibilities and ongoing requirements.
  • Recruit staff that meet the program's staffing requirements. If you have identified people who need more skills to meet program requirements, have a plan in place to train them.
  • Require staff to attend regular refresher courses.
  • Hold staff recognition events and/or provide incentives to the staff.
  • Stay engaged with staff, communicate often.
  • Provide opportunities for staff to offer feedback.
  • When possible, recruit staff from communities/cultures of program participants.
